At the occasion of the official visit of French President François Hollande in the Republic of Vietnam, the industrial companies FPT of Vietnam and Telespazio France announce their strategic partnership in the EarthLab programme.
According to that, FPT and Telespazio France will first customize and deliver added value services for the immediate benefits of the Vietnamese territory: Early Services. And FPT will become supplier for cloud services and the analytics of the collected data for the EarthLab Early Services in Vietnam.
“The EarthLab adventure is making another strategic step with the signature of this partnership in Vietnam, a key partner country for France and its space industry. Through this strategic agreement, I am very confident that the key IT expertise brought by our partner FPT will ease the rapid development of a new generation of geo-information services for the benefit of this beautiful country and its particularly ambitious environmental challenges”, added Jean-Marc GARDIN, Deputy CEO of Telespazio group and CEO of Telespazio France.
EarthLab’s ambition is to contribute, via remote sensing technologies and the spread of digital tools, to the emergence of a development model involving more closely economics, human and environmental parameters. Based on the Earth observation satellites, EarthLab proposes a customized management of environment-related activities.
Vietnam is willing to explore the founding of an EarthLab Vietnam focused on activities such as rice monitoring, water management and climate change as well as coastal surveillance, key economical domains for this country facing major impacts from the climate change.
